CLOSURE OF OPEN BURNING IN RAVALLI COUNTY EFFECTIVE 7/13/2024

RESOLUTION NO. 4631

CLOSURE OF OPEN BURNING IN RAVALLI COUNTY

WHEREAS, the BOARD OF RAVALLI COUNTY COMMISSIONERS established a Ravalli County local fire season on February 20, 2024 as per Resolution No. 4611.

WHEREAS, fire danger in Ravalli County has been increasing and current forecasts predict hot and dry conditions in the area for the foreseeable future; and

WHEREAS, current hot and dry conditions warrant open burning restrictions; and

WHEREAS, the BOARD OF RAVALLI COUNTY COMMISSIONERS held a duly noticed public meeting on July 8, 2024, in order to take public comment on the closure of open burning in Ravalli County; and

WHEREAS, the Ravalli County Fire warden recommends restricting open burning in the interest of public health and safety for the County of Ravalli;

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the BOARD OF RAVALLI COUNTY

COMMISSIONERS shall prohibit open burning in Ravalli County through the Ravalli County Bum Permit System and closure of the Bum Permit System is hereby effective July 13, 2024.
