PROPERTY TAX REBATE INFORMATION

It’s time for round 2 of the Montana Property Tax Rebate. . . The claim period runs from August 15 - October 1, 2024.  

A property tax rebate postcard is set to be mailed to potentially eligible homeowners by June 30, officially kicking of the property tax rebate season. Here is a link [mtrevenue.gov] to the postcard. We expect the department will begin receiving phone calls, emails, and even walk-ins regarding the property tax rebate. It’s important that all employees navigate to getmyrebate.mt.gov and (re)learn about the property tax rebate. 

Paper claim forms will not be available until August 15. The claim form has changed this year, so we ask that you do not handout or accept the previous year’s claim form. Most importantly, taxpayers should be encouraged to file their claim form electronically on TAP starting August 15.
